HOW JPS SOLUTIONS HELPS FAITH-BASED AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS

JPS Solutions helps faith-based organizations (FBOs) and community based organizations (CBOs) to become successful Supplemental Educational Services providers and to raise money through government and private grants.

Support for Prospective and Active Supplemental Educational Services Providers

Funding is available for FBOs and CBOs that provide academic support and/or after-school programs for youth through the Supplemental Educational Services provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act. Supplemental Educational Services—i.e. tutoring—are provided free of charge to qualifying students enrolled in Title I schools that consistently fail to meet their academic goals. The organizations that deliver these services—called Supplemental Educational Services providers—are paid by the school district out of Title I funds. The New York City public schools, for instance, must set aside more than $150 million in Title I funds for supplemental educational services and related programs, and Supplemental Educational Services providers are paid as much as $2,100 per enrolled student. • Assessing your readiness to apply to be a Supplemental Educational Services provider.
  • Helping you develop or adapt curricula and academic models that meet the criteria for state approval.
  • Assisting you in analyzing your state’s Request for Qualifications and preparing high-quality Supplemental Educational Services Provider applications.
